TCL - Placement Tests

The College uses the American College Testing (ACT) assessment program to help students reach their educational goals. Assessment instruments include ASSET (Assessing Student Success Entry and Transfer) and COMPASS (Computer Adaptive Placement Assessment and Support System). ASSET and COMPASS include comprehensive assessment, orientation, course placement, counseling, and advisement to help ensure the student's academic success.

COMPASS Practice Tests

No fee for the initial test.

$25.00 administrative fee for retests

Payment should be submitted to the Cashier in building 3.

Monday through Thursday

8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Allow enough time to complete the test.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred.

If you plan to take the placement test at the TCL New River Campus, you must make an appointment.

1. Pay the Cashier for retests only.

2. Take your testing fee receipt, if applicable, and a photo ID to the Testing Center on the day of the test.
